I've gone and forgotten what these are called now !! Maybe rock lettuce or roses ?something like that - anyway I'll try to describe them...... grow in rosette shape, anywhere from 5 to 15cm accross, kind of prehistoric succulent things. grow really well if there is no hard frost - so best to bring them into a green house over harsh winter.
They have lots of babies very readily - and i have some grown ups and babies if anyone is interested - they don't need much water, and i know that they can become quite addictive as there are many different leaf colours and shapes to get a good collection going. simply let me know if you'd like to have some. Cheers LOH
I've now worked out the are called house leeks too. ... they're flowering at the moment and look very 'different' I'm sure someone out there must want some ? I read a herb book that you can eat them in salads too ? I tried it, but wasn't convinced about their cullinary attributes. As a plant in a dry spot, they're fab though. Cheers LOH
